Reports
… LGBT Student Affairs -
o Alex reported that today was the opening day for bids for student health insurance that include benefits for gay partners on an equal basis as spouses.
o Phyllis and Alex met with student mental health counselors to talk about ways of better serving LGBT students.
o Pride Student Government needs 2 more advisors
… Gator Gay Straight Alliance
o Scott reported that GGSA just completed residence advisor training with a big push for residence advisors to join Friends
o GGSA undergraduate out lesbian and gay students are working with a Greek Leaders Class with one LGBT student paired with two Greek students to discuss stereotypes that each group has of the other.
… Rainbow Alliance
o Charles reported through Linda that the RA is helping generate funds for the Scholarship Fund
… Committee on Sexism and Homophobia
o Phyllis attended her last meeting with us and reported that John and Rich would carry out the liason function for our two committees
Scholarship Fund
… Linda reported that she and Kim and Kendal collected funds at the Pride Festival
… Stewart told Linda that the Gainesville Alliance would be making a contribution again this year.
… Checks should be made out to "GLB Scholarship Fund" with the fund number "930 601 387" on the note line at the bottom of the check. You can then send the check to Priscilla Williams, PO Box 113250, Campus. Or you can send them to Charles Brown, PO Box 110570, Campus.
… Linda placed a Notice about the Scholarship in Mama Raga
… Kim will chair the sub-committee this year
… After a long discussion about the composition of the sub-committee, we voted to restrict the sub-committee to non-student members. Kendal and Carlos will serve with Kim and we are seeking another member of the committee - someone who did not attend today's meeting. E-mail Linda to volunteer.

UF Foundation
… Jeanna is collecting names of LGBT alumni who might be willing to donate - send her the names ASAP.
… We need an individual to create a presentation on the need for an LGBT Center and Director for UF Foundation

… John reported that the article is now en route to the University Counsel to be sure it accurately represents UF policy.
… Scott will find out about the Lesbian and Gay Task Force procedures for reporting harassment and see if it is wise to have a place on the web page to anonymously report incidents of harassment - completely separate from grieving harassment.

Campus Survey
… Ken shared through Linda that there is nothing new on this topic.
… Phyllis reminded us that we should conduct follow-up to the 1993 Quality of Life Survey, which included faculty, staff and students.
